No Shared Neighbours
Your websites run on a KVM VPS with dedicated CPU and memory, so another customer's traffic surge or misbehaving script cannot slow your pages. Performance reflects your own sites and nothing else.
Chinese-language websites deserve more than a crowded shared account. Instead of shared plans, Server in China hosts websites on private KVM virtual servers in Hong Kong, so every corporate site, product catalogue, landing page or customer portal runs on reserved CPU and RAM with NVMe storage and unlimited traffic. You pick the control panel you prefer, install SSL certificates, configure caching and set up business email, all on a server that belongs to your project alone.
To be accurate about location, the servers are in Hong Kong, not in mainland China. Hong Kong offers fast connectivity to Hong Kong, the mainland and Asia-Pacific, which makes it a strong home for sites aimed at mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and diaspora audiences. Hosting starts with our entry VPS at US$22.95 per month, with Linux or Windows.

Install the hosting panel your team already knows, or work directly on the command line. Panels typically bundle site management, databases, email accounts and one-click application installers in one interface.
Secure every site and subdomain with SSL/TLS certificates, either free automated certificates or commercial ones your company purchases, so visitors and search engines see an encrypted, trusted connection.
Create addresses on your own domain for sales, support and individual staff. Running mail on your server keeps correspondence under your control, with authentication records you configure yourself.
Set backup frequency, retention and destination to match your policy. Copy site files and databases to separate storage regularly, and restore a single file or an entire site when you need to.
Run PHP, Python or Node.js sites on Linux, or ASP.NET applications on Windows with IIS. The platform follows the technology your website is built on, rather than forcing a rewrite.
Traditional shared hosting places hundreds of websites on one server and divides resources among them. That keeps prices low but leaves each site exposed to its neighbours: a busy shop on the same machine can slow yours, and a compromised account elsewhere can attract unwanted attention to the whole server.
We chose not to offer shared plans at all. Every website hosted with Server in China runs on a KVM virtual private server in Hong Kong with CPU and RAM reserved for it. For brands presenting themselves to Chinese-speaking customers, where page speed and reliability shape first impressions, this isolation is worth the modest difference in cost.
A VPS also removes the artificial limits shared plans impose on PHP versions, memory per process, cron jobs and installed modules. Your developers can configure the server exactly as the website requires, and you can host one large site or several smaller ones on the same plan.
A control panel makes day-to-day website management accessible to staff who are not system administrators. Because you have full root access, the choice is yours:
Most commercial panels require a licence. Ask our sales team about panel licensing when you order, and they will explain the options for your chosen VPS plan.
Chinese pages fail in subtle ways when encoding is inconsistent. Declare UTF-8 in your HTML, serve it in the HTTP Content-Type header, store it in the database with a full Unicode collation such as utf8mb4 and make sure your editors save files as UTF-8 without unexpected byte order marks.
Typography needs equal care. Complete Chinese font files are large, so many sites rely on system fonts for body text and use web fonts only for headings, or subset fonts to include just the characters a page uses. Specify font stacks that cover simplified and traditional glyphs, since the same Unicode character can be drawn differently in mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwanese typefaces.
Set the correct language attribute on each page, for example zh-Hans for simplified and zh-Hant for traditional Chinese, so browsers pick suitable fonts and search engines understand which audience the page targets.
Many exporters and enterprises need the same website in English, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese. There are three common structures, and a Hong Kong VPS supports all of them:
Whichever you choose, add hreflang annotations so search engines show the right version to each audience, and give visitors a clear language switcher. Keep translations professional and localised, because mainland and Taiwanese readers use different vocabulary for many everyday terms.
A fast site begins with a capable server. NVMe storage and reserved CPU on our Hong Kong VPS plans give pages a strong foundation, and full control lets you add the layers that make the biggest difference:
Avoid loading scripts, fonts or widgets from third-party services that may be slow or unreachable for some visitors in the region. Hosting assets on your own Hong Kong server keeps control of performance in your hands.
Professional email on your own domain builds trust with distributors, suppliers and customers. With a control panel installed, creating mailboxes for sales, support and individual staff takes minutes.
Deliverability depends on configuration. Publish SPF records listing the servers allowed to send for your domain, sign messages with DKIM and set a DMARC policy so receiving servers know how to treat unauthenticated mail. Check that the reverse DNS of your server IP matches your mail hostname, and raise a support ticket if it needs to be changed.
Some organisations prefer to keep email on a separate service and host only the website on the VPS. That works equally well: simply point the MX records to your mail provider while A records point to the Hong Kong server. Whichever approach you take, monitor mail logs and blocklists, and never use the server for unsolicited bulk email, which breaches our acceptable use rules.
Every public website should load over HTTPS. Browsers warn visitors about unencrypted pages, search engines favour secure sites and checkout or contact forms must protect the data customers enter.
Free automated certificates from Let's Encrypt can be issued and renewed through most control panels or with the Certbot tool, covering each domain and subdomain you host. Enterprises that require organisation-validated or extended-validation certificates can buy them from a commercial authority and install them on the server.
After enabling HTTPS, redirect all HTTP traffic to the secure version, turn on HSTS once you are confident the configuration is stable and check that every image, script and stylesheet loads from an HTTPS address so browsers do not report mixed content. Review certificate expiry dates regularly, even when renewal is automated.
Not every corporate website is built on PHP. Many enterprises in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and the agencies that serve them, maintain ASP.NET sites and intranet portals that expect Windows and Internet Information Services.
Our VPS plans can be delivered with Windows, giving you administrator access to install IIS, the .NET runtime your application targets and Microsoft SQL Server or another database. A control panel that supports Windows, such as Plesk, can simplify site and certificate management for non-technical staff.
Allow extra memory when choosing a Windows plan, because the operating system and IIS use more RAM than a lean Linux stack. Configure application pools so each site runs under its own identity, and keep Windows Update enabled to stay patched against vulnerabilities.
Agencies that build sites for Chinese-speaking audiences often look after dozens of small properties: product microsites, campaign pages, event registrations and company profiles. Hosting them on a single larger Hong Kong VPS with a control panel gives each client its own account, isolated files and separate databases, while the agency manages everything from one dashboard.
Group clients by importance. High-traffic or sensitive clients deserve their own VPS so they cannot be affected by other projects, while low-traffic microsites can share a server comfortably. Because every plan includes unlimited traffic, you do not need to monitor each client's monthly transfer.
Standardise backups, monitoring and update routines across all client sites. When a client leaves, export their account from the panel and hand it over, or migrate it to a VPS of their own.
Backups are your responsibility on a self-managed VPS, and a good routine is simple to set up. Follow the widely used 3-2-1 approach: keep three copies of important data, on two different types of storage, with one copy in a separate location away from the server.
Most control panels include backup scheduling, and command-line tools such as rsync, restic or borg give developers fine-grained control. A dedicated server with a 1 TB disk can also serve as a backup target for a fleet of website VPS instances.
Before announcing a new site to customers in Greater China, work through a short checklist on the Hong Kong server:
Completing these steps before launch avoids the common problems that undermine first impressions with new audiences, and gives your team confidence that the server, site and domain are working together correctly.
No. We host websites only on private KVM virtual servers in Hong Kong. Each VPS has dedicated CPU and RAM, NVMe storage and unlimited traffic, with plans starting at US$22.95 per month. You install the control panel you prefer and can host one site or several on the same server.
Yes. With full root access you can install cPanel and WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin or an open-source panel. Commercial panels normally require a licence, so ask our sales team about licensing when ordering. Many panels also include one-click installers for popular applications, which simplifies launching new sites.
No. All hosting is in Hong Kong. We do not run servers on the mainland. Hong Kong provides fast connectivity to Hong Kong, mainland China and Asia-Pacific, which makes it a practical location for websites that target mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and overseas Chinese visitors from one origin.
Yes. VPS plans can be delivered with Windows, so you can install IIS, the .NET runtime and a database such as Microsoft SQL Server. Plesk is a popular control panel for Windows hosting. Choose a plan with enough memory, as Windows uses more RAM than a typical Linux web stack.
Use UTF-8 everywhere: in your HTML meta tag, HTTP headers, application configuration and database, where utf8mb4 is recommended for MySQL and MariaDB. Set the page language to zh-Hans or zh-Hant, and use font stacks that cover the correct regional glyphs for simplified and traditional Chinese readers.
You can run email on your own VPS by installing a control panel or mail server and creating mailboxes on your domain. Configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC for good deliverability, and make sure reverse DNS matches your mail hostname. Alternatively, keep email with another provider and point only the website to the Hong Kong server.
On a self-managed VPS, you decide and manage the backup routine. Use your control panel's scheduler or tools like rsync, restic or borg, copy archives to storage away from the server, and test restores regularly. This approach gives you full control over frequency, retention and where copies are stored.
Yes. A larger Hong Kong VPS with a control panel can hold many client accounts, each with isolated files, databases and email. Unlimited traffic removes the need to track each site's transfer. Give high-traffic or sensitive clients their own VPS so they remain unaffected by other projects.
